H1N1 Virus -- Swine Flu

Updated Information on August 27, 2009

There have been several reported cases of Swine Flu or H1N1 in many schools, daycares, VSU and Moody Air Force Base.  At this time we have discovered that we have not had any confirmed case of the Swine Flu at Perimeter Christian School.  Although we don't have a confirmed case, it is important to remember the symptoms and follow the protocol we set at this time.  The symptoms are fever, lack of appetite, coughing, congestion and diarrhea.  The flu spreads easily through coughing and sneezing.  If your child exhibits any of these symptoms and especially fever please keep your child home.

According to The Center for Disease Control, the best thing to do if you or a family member has these symptoms is to stay home and in bed.  Avoid contact with others until you have been symptom free for 24 hours.  Your child MUST be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reduction medication before returning to school.

Our staff is and will continue disinfecting the classrooms, toys, nap mats, etc.  We are also using Lysol consistently.  The children are washing their hands with antibacterial soap after each bathroom and outside trip.  We also are practicing hand washing before we eat snacks or lunch.  Please help us keep this flu from spreading to other students and teachers by keeping your sick child home when they show any signs of illness.
